Installation Steps
1
Measure and Plan
Measure each wall section. Plan cuts to minimize waste and avoid short pieces.
2
Cut Inside Corners
For inside corners, cut one piece square to wall. Cope adjoining piece to fit profile.
3
Cut Outside Corners
Cut both pieces at 45-degree angles. Test fit before nailing.
4
Nail Baseboard
Nail baseboard to wall studs, not floor. Locate studs with finder or by tapping. Nail every 16 inches.
5
Install Shoe Molding
Add quarter-round or shoe molding to cover expansion gap. Nail to baseboard, not floor.
6
Fill Nail Holes
Fill all nail holes with wood filler. Let dry and sand smooth.
7
Caulk Gaps
Apply paintable caulk along top edge where baseboard meets wall. Smooth with finger.
8
Paint or Stain
Apply paint or stain to match décor. Two coats recommended for best coverage.
